Civic Saturday Akron began in 2024 with a handful of neighbors hosting gatherings designed in a model developed by Citizen University in Seattle. In Akron, they took shape as vibrant intergenerational gatherings of 80 to 100 people in an old church-turned-family-home in Highland Square. Word spread, and in 2025, Citizen University brought their Seattle team to Akron to train nineteen Fellows in the Civic Saturday Fellowship program. We are proud to be their first city-focused cohort out of 27 graduating classes. Subscribe to the Civic Saturday newsletter for upcoming events and opportunities hosted by the Civic Saturday Akron Fellows.
